Description
Using Xaar printing heads, the Xerox Xpress images at 360 and 720 dpi at reasonably fast speeds. As most in the industry are aware, Xerox does not manufacture the engine, but OEM's it from Olympus (according to Seubold). Olympus has also OEM'd the product to other companies as well, such as the Seiko IP-4000, who sold very few of this unit. The Raster Graphics PiezoPrint 5000 uses the same print heads as the Xpress and IP-4000, so the inks have been deemed compatible.

Being one of the first companies to offer an alternative ink for Xpress, GO xInk takes advantage of Xaar's head flexibility to offer capabilities similar to the Xpress/PP5000 OEM inks. GO xInk is a pigmented oil-based ink formulated specifically to be used with the Xpress, PP5000 and IP-4000 at much more reasonable pricing than that offered by the OEMs. As with GO's wide range of other large format inks, xInks contain Hyper-Particulate Saturation (HPS) Technology for saturated and consistent color.

Q: What is the shelf life of xInk inks?
A: Under normal conditions, with stable room temperature, the shelf life is one year.

Q: How is the stability of the xInks.
A: From batch to batch, the tolerances of xInks are very precise.

Q: What is he process to install the xInks?
A: The process is very simple:

• 1. Empty out the old inks.
• 2. Flush the system with GO flushing solution
• 3. Install the GO xInk.

Q: What happens if the other inks are not cleaned from the system?
A: The OEM inks must be cleaned from the system prior to installing the xInks.

Q: Are there any restrictions on types of materials, which can be imaged?
A: If the media works with the normal OEM ink then there should be no problems with GO xInk.

Q: Are the xInks balanced to each other?
A: GO produces balanced inksets which, when combined, produce rich and vibrant results with a larger color gamut than the OEM.

Q: Does GO provide ICC profiles for its inks?
A: In order to provide a correct profile, the inks must be profiled with the media on which they will be imaged. In this case, GO offers leading profiling packages and color measuring devices for creating profiles of ink and media combinations.

Q: Why does GO offer Lc and Lm inks?
A: The Raster Graphics Piezo Print 5000 is a 6 color printer, rather than a 4 color printer like the Xerox Xpress and Seiko IP-4000, and images using Light Cyan and Light Magenta.
