Description
High performance clear coating for providing UV, water and abrasion protection to certain types of digital prints. Also enhances the vibrancy of the inks. GO PermaShield is formulated to use in automatic roller coaters.
Media/Ink Types
Good for application on most water resistant medias such as vinyl, banner and canvas printed with pigmented or solvent based inks. Always test the coating on each media to be sure it works properly, prior to doing your production runs.
UV Protection
One mil dry coating film, when applied to two applications of .5 mils each, will block 99% of UV light. Although PermaShield will significantly extend the normal life of the print, an exact life extension can not be provided due to variations in the environment, media and inks.
Drying/Curing Time
Drying time for a .5 mil coating thickness is about 15 to 20 minutes. Low temperatures and high humidity will extend drying time. It will also vary based on the type of media coated. Curing time (for full protection) is 24 hours.
Coverage
At .5 mil coating thickness, one gallon covers approximately 1,100 sq. ft. At 1 mil thickness, one gallon covers approximately 550 sq. ft.
Application
Applies .5 mil coating thickness per run. Allow 15 minute dry time before applying a second coat. If the print has a relatively short expected life span, and will not be placed in areas with exposure to harsh abrasion, then one coat may be suffient. Do not wait more than 15 minutes between coating prints or the caoting may thicken up on the roller due to air exposure. Using the laminator in an area with temperatures over 85 degrees F amy also result in the coating thickening up on the roller, in a relatively short time.
Storage/Health
Maximum storage temperature is 120 degrees F. GO PermaShield is non toxic and non hazardous. Do not swallow. Should eye contact occur, flush with water
